A Little Practice

It always happens, even for us professionals! We need to tie a tie for an important day! I've been asked a million times, "Is this on straight?". Sometimes it's on straight and other times it's er...but that's okay because that's what we're there for!

Need to learn how to tie a bow*tie, see below and give it a go :) If you're still having difficulties, we're still here for you!

Thank You Kindly...

I just received a Thank You card from a friend that recently tied the knot. I will say this is the quickest Thank You card I have ever received (2 weeks to be exact!)...which I LOVE!

When I used to work for the Bridal Registry at Bloomingdales, brides would always ask when was it the best time to send thank you cards for gifts received. In my opinion, I would routinely send them once a month just so your friends and loved ones knew you received that special something you've been vying after for you and your soon to be spouse. I know, once a month is nuts right?! Not if you're on top of it! I've seen spreadsheets of gifts received and boxes checked if a note has been sent out. Some as lengthy as 3 pages (single space!). So no excuses.

Believe me when I say, you don't want to have to do this when you have returned from your honeymoon, fully settled into your "married" home, and got back into your normal routine because by that time it'll be 5 years.

So create that gifts received folder on your desktop and have your hunny help you keep track of all of the goodies and gift certificates. Because someone dearly thought of you, so in return thank them in a timely manner.

Cakes by the Pound

I'm so excited about cake tasting at Cakes by the Pound with one of my brides next week! I hear Mendy K. Pound's cakes are amaaaazing! No Fail! I will admit the Millionaire Matchmaker show is a guilty pleasure of mine, but Mendy was on the show when Patty had her cake tasting for her upcoming wedding and just by looking at them, they looked divine!

I will update you all after our tasting!

Update: Cake tasting was fantastic! Mendy is great! Her tastings are all done by appointments only. I will post a little story about the adventure very soon (when my lil bride sends me photos of the wonderful cakes). Let's just say the cake verdict is.....red velvet & vanilla. You have to taste it to believe it!
Cheers!

Downtown Vintage Flair

Christina and her bridesmaids on their way to the Fine Arts Building (downtown LA)

Walter and Christina, enjoying a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Dominik's Restaurant...

I painted these Bells that were once were silver, but now are gold!

I did it! I had my first full wedding! All on my own...well, not exactly on my own...but under my own business! I had a great team working with me (Nara Kwon) and was surrounded by complete joy!

Walter and Christina are the two most adorable couples I know. They're so witty and they balance each other out so well! It was a joy to work with these two. They were always calm and the one thing that they looked forward to the most was just being husband and wife at the end of a busy, but fun day!

The ceremony was held at The Fine Arts Building in Downtown LA and the reception at Dominick's Restaurant in West Hollywood. Christina has a vintage flair to her. She has beautiful porcelain skin and is tall and beautiful. Walter, he is hilarious! Every time he lays his eyes on Christina, his eyes gets ten times bigger! His love for her is so apparent it's so amazing! So you know how excited I was when they hired me to work their wedding. They voiced their concerns, but they were always open to new ideas.

They celebrated with 140 of their closest friends and family members, with wonderful wine, food, a fabulous selection of great music...and bells :) Even after a long day, it was a blessing to see the smile on their face throughout the whole entire day!

Thank you Walter and Christina!

Now it's on to the next one :)
