Real Engagement- Amy and Shane

Congrats to a dear friend on her recent engagement! I met Amy about 3 years ago at work when we were both Hollywood Assistants.  Amy is gorgeous, smart, sweet, and we at times enjoy a good chick flick on a Sunday afternoon.

Amy and Shane met in Chicago at college

When she called me to tell me she was engaged, I was both surprised and doubly excited. You see, I knew about the imminent proposal (I know I'm a little sneak)! Shane, her now fiancee emailed me to let me know it was going to happen before Christmas. He was in the process of designing the ring, but per Amy's request if he wanted to know what type of ring Amy talked about (with me)...I was the source to ask. Shane wanted a unique ring for a pretty awesome girl. He wanted to combine his mother's diamond engagement ring, her mother's diamond engagement ring, and the ring he was going to pick out for Amy. Isn't that sweet?!!!

The task to get Amy's mother's engagement ring was no easy task either, since it sat in her jewelry box. Amy is pretty much knows if a hair has been misplaced. So of course Amy called me when the ring came up missing. At that time I was with Shane looking at the dazzling sparklers. It's hard for me to lie without eventually revealing it, but I'm pretty good if it involves an engagement! Our short conversation went something like this:

Amy: Yoleine, my mother's ring is missing!
Me: Seriously? Where do you think it is?
Amy: Well, I think Shane took it to get the size taken bc it fits me perfectly!
Me: Do you think... Really?
Amy: Oh dear...I don't know, but I can't think of any other reason...
Me: Oh, hey, let me call you in about 10 minutes, my sister is trying to call me....

Shane wouldn't tell me how he was planning to propose, but he was going to do it before Christmas. So when Amy called me at 11pm the day before they were to leave for Chicago...It was "the call"!

Amy is going to make a beautiful bride. And I'm so thrilled to even have been a part of the process. Shane, you did good, you did real good.

xo,
Yoleine
